Web Design

Web design is where strategy, brand, and user experience meet — and where most small business websites fall down. Pretty designs that don’t convert. Strong copy hidden in weak layouts. Beautiful homepages that lead nowhere. Real web design is more than aesthetics: it’s the discipline of designing pages that work harder than the ones they replace.

I design websites for businesses that need their site to actually do work — earn trust, generate leads, sell products, support sales conversations. Not just look good in a screenshot.

What’s Included

How It Works

  1. Discovery — Working sessions to understand the business, audience, and goals (typically 2-3 hours over 1-2 calls)
  2. Strategy and IA — Sitemap, page priorities, conversion path mapping
  3. Wireframes — Low-fidelity layouts for review and refinement before any visual design begins
  4. Visual design — Full designs presented in Figma, with feedback collected directly in the file
  5. Handoff or build — Designs handed to your developer with proper specs, or I take it through to WordPress development myself

Is This Right for Your Business?

Web design is the right investment if your current site doesn’t convert visitors at a reasonable rate, if it’s been more than 4-5 years since the last redesign (web design moves fast — sites that looked current in 2021 often feel dated now), if you’re rebranding or repositioning, or if you’ve outgrown the templated look most small business sites carry.

If you have a small business that just needs a working website and aren’t ready to invest in real design work, a well-configured premium WordPress theme is fine. Don’t pay for custom design before you’ve validated the business.

Why Work With Me on Web Design

Most freelance web design splits into two camps: designers who can’t build, and developers who can’t really design. I do both, which changes what’s possible. I can design knowing what’s actually feasible to build well, and I can build knowing what design choices are worth protecting versus what can be simplified during implementation.

That overlap also kills the most common breakdown in web design projects: the gap between handoff and build. Designs get watered down in implementation because the developer doesn’t have time to do them justice. When the same person designs and builds, that gap goes away.

Often paired with brand identity work and custom theme development.

Pricing & Timeline

Web design projects (design only, no development) start at $5,000 for small brochure sites and $8,500-$18,000 for more complex sites. Full design + build engagements priced as combined projects, typically starting at $10,000. Timelines range from 4-8 weeks for design alone, 8-14 weeks for design + build.
